A community within the Archdiocese of New Orleans came together to support the elderly residents of one of the Archdiocese’ senior living ministries during the Advent season.
The fourth grade students of St. Catherine of Siena completed a service project as a way to live out their roles as disciples of Christ.
The students spent time during their religion classes creating homemade cards with Christmas greetings and scriptures to brighten the day of the elderly residing at Christopher Homes properties. In addition to creating cheerful cards, the students collected donations of basic household items.
Several students delivered the donations and distributed the cards to residents of Annunciation Inn and St. Martin’s Manor.
These properties, along with the 19 other Christopher Homes properties, offer affordable housing to low income seniors.
The joy from these special deliveries was easily spotted on the faces of the residents.
