Whenever Joyce O’Brien makes fudge, she harks back to a “kitchen disaster” from her childhood. After O’Brien had prepared “the best fudge in the world” and set the platter temporarily in the sink, her uncle washed his hands in that sink, accidentally “watering” his niece’s sugary confections.
Slidell’s annexation and rezoning of 12 acres of land fronting U.S. 190/Gause Boulevard West will open the way for construction of a senior living facility to be operated by the Archdiocese of New Orleans. The Slidell City Council this week annexed the land into the city limits and gave it a high-density zoning classification.
